Gaziantep Food Cluster Made a Strong Entry into Canada with Stand Participation at SIAL Canada Fair

The Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO) Gaziantep Food Cluster participated in SIAL Canada, one of the world’s leading food fairs, with a cluster promotion stand under national participation.

Within the scope of the organization carried out under the International Competitiveness Development (UR-GE) project with the support of the Ministry of Trade and under the coordination of GSO, cluster member companies took part in the fair held in Toronto.

During the fair, participating companies engaged with international manufacturers and suppliers, focusing on product sourcing, import opportunities, and alternative supply channels. Within the scope of bilateral business meetings (B2B), companies held one-on-one meetings with numerous international firms, establishing new supplier connections and expanding their existing supply networks.

As a result of these B2B meetings, companies took concrete steps towards diversifying their product portfolios, evaluated sourcing opportunities from different regions, and gained significant insights into alternative supply channels.

The fair also provided an opportunity for companies to observe global food trends, explore new products, and assess international sourcing opportunities within the sector.

During the event, the cluster promotion stand was visited by the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Canada, Ms. Sinem Mingan, the Trade Attaché of Canada, Mr. Ahmet Necati Karışman, and the Vice President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Mehmet Develioğlu.

The delegation, composed of Gaziantep Food Cluster member companies, was accompanied by GSO Board Member Mr. Ali Can Koçak and Deputy Secretary General Mr. M. Sermest Çapan.

This activity strengthened the integration of cluster members into global supply chains, contributed to the diversification of import processes, and generated tangible outcomes that enhanced the competitiveness of the participating companies.
