Within the scope of the International Competitiveness Development (UR-GE) project carried out under the coordination of the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO) and supported by the Ministry of Trade, member companies of the Gaziantep Food Cluster participated in the FOODEX Food Fair held in Japan.
The fair, organized between 3–10 March in Tokyo, hosted cluster member companies at the GSO promotion stand, where they had the opportunity to present their products to international participants.
During the fair, participating companies held meetings with manufacturers and suppliers from various countries, focusing on product sourcing, import opportunities, and alternative supply channels. Within the scope of bilateral business meetings (B2B), companies established new supplier connections and expanded their existing supply networks.
As a result of these meetings, companies evaluated sourcing opportunities from different regions, took concrete steps towards diversifying their product portfolios, and gained valuable insights into alternative supply chains.
The fair also enabled companies to closely follow global food trends, explore new products, and assess international sourcing opportunities within the sector.
On the first day of the fair, the Commercial Counsellor of the Republic of Türkiye in Tokyo, Ms. Mukaddes Nur Yılmaz, visited the GSO Gaziantep Food Cluster stand and exchanged views with the delegation.
This activity strengthened the integration of cluster members into global supply chains, contributed to the diversification of import processes, and generated tangible outcomes that enhanced the competitiveness of the participating companies.
